Punk Rock
Well I was jut wondering who love Punk Rock as much as I do. And also share your opinions about the subgenres and other stuff. Perhaps the only punk subgenres more talked about here are post-hardcore, emotive hardcore and screamo. Punk made me change views on life and was a gateway to discover reality and being awake.

RE: Punk Rock
idk how much you love punk rock, but I sure love it too!
I also really like the heavy-ness of the more extreme genres like hardcore, grindcore, neocrust and stuff like this.
A few songs that come up in my mind:

I fucking love punk rock and its subgenres, everything about it is great. I mostly listen to emo and screamo, BEST GENRES EVER!!!
Some drum rhythms are always stuck in my head and then I drum on everything.

I do. I'm also a sucker for emo and screamo.
Will definitely make some mixes on all the subgenres.

you choose the colors of your world, you choose the patterns of your words,

RE: Punk Rock
I can't even express in words how I feel about punk.
Punk rock has been a huge part of my life since I found it. Of course the music first & foremost but also the entire ideal.
I value things like authenticity & inclusion u will find these in many punk communities.
Punk rock should mean freedom. Liking and accepting anything that you like, playing whatever you want, as sloppy as you want. As long as it's good and it has passion. - Kurt Cobain

Examples of Powerviolence could be this:

Also Thrashcore ( I don't really listen to this genre just one band but they are crossover thrash also):

Like Ian Mackaye said once: "Punk Rock was the gateway to the countercultural world I was looking for"
Punk rock helped me find the real me and to appreciate life and also reflect on the issues that are going on. I used to listen to music the majority used to listen to fit in and make ''friends'' but in secret Id always be rocking out to some genre of rock (Ive always felt a great connection with rock). It was till last year when I gave Punk Rock a chance and got more into it. Before I thought punk rock was like just meaning ''fuck the police'' (which was one reason I was frightened about it but thought it was cool), then I started to watch documentaries and interviews and all that music related stuff and well I have discovered a way new world which I was looking for a long time ago. Punk rock has changed my world in different aspects and well I fucking love it to say the least.

What are your opinions on breakdowns? I hear breakdowns on some subgenres of hardcore punk but they arent that generic mallcore breakdowns. Ive heard them in genres like Grindcore, Powerviolence and Beatdown Hardcore. Also I have noticed some breakdowns in screamo in songs such as Subtitles by Seeing means More. I think breakdowns are just part of the music such as guitar solos in metal genres and are not meant to be something that required so it can be hardcore.

RE: Punk Rock
I believe that mallcore is the reason.

edit: Breakdowns aren't exactly bad but they just don't appeal to me.

If that's breakdown at 0:30 then it's fucking awesome breakdown:

I dont know an exact definition of a breakdown since the ones ive heard are diverse and unique. What I think is that mallcore breakdowns just have ruined it for you. Perhaps the reason the media/illuminati/system inputted the breakdowns into mallcore was to make it into something attractive for the scenesters like Gatis said in his video Music, but these breakdowns arent what breakdowns are meant to be.
