Getting my girlfriend into emo/screamo
Okay so my girlfriend and I are together for 11 months now, so I think it's time. Until now she only likes the song Dominic - Ink For Bullets a bit, and she's more open to new music than most people, so we are not exactly starting from scratch here, but I got 'stuck' here and probably need some help from you people.
Which songs are similar that she might also like?
How did you guys get into emo/screamo? (I know there is a pretty similar threat but oh well I guess this is kinda different?)

Thanks all.

Try Orchid.

Embrace - 'Money' is catchy.
Time to realize that the truth is not so clear!!!

You could have her non-stop listen to mix 3 [] till she likes it, that's pretty much how I'd done it Tongue

RE: Getting my girlfriend into emo/screamo
I last weekend heard funeral diner - paper and it just blew me away right as the lyrics started, it was the first time I actually saw what they say in the songs. I've watched gatis video about music many times but emo/screamo wasn't something I liked very much because I didn't know what it was about (even though he tries to explain it repeating times in the video), and I wondered why there are so many videos on youtube without the lyrics because I didn't understand a single word or sentence

The key is to find songs that she can relate to or instantly see as a good message (the lyrics) if she thinks somethings weird or funny about it, especially the lyrics, then you know that it'll be extremely hard to make her see the beauty in it. It just felt like a click to me when I heard the song while seeing the lyrics at the same time.

Btw feel free to send me screamo songs, I still haven't heard 99% of whats out there (I believe)

Does she already like punk? Rites of Spring if so.
Punk rock should mean freedom. Liking and accepting anything that you like, playing whatever you want, as sloppy as you want. As long as it's good and it has passion. - Kurt Cobain

no she's not into punk, but at least she already knew stuff like green day aren't punk before we ever talked about it.
